Tema Artichoke
Artichoke with intense violet external bracts with slight shades of green and pale yellow internally. It has an elongated shape with short spines at the tip. It is meaty and tender with a delicate and slightly bitter taste. The size of the heads of the 1st growing season can be medium to large (8-11 cm with a weight of 130g - 160g) while the heads of 2nd and 3rd seasons are average size (7-8 cm with a weight of 110g -140g). The plant can reach 1 meter in height and its leaves are arranged with a rosette in the center and a sturdy branched flowering stalk with 3-5 flower heads with not very numerous but tight bracts. The harvesting season begins in October and in Sardinia lasts until April, thanks to an excellent resistance to the cold.
