Violetto Artichoke

A cylindrical shaped artichoke of medium size and compactness; the outer bracts are not very numerous or tight and are purple in color with fairly pronounced apical spines. The taste is sweet with a pleasant bitter aftertaste. It has a tender texture and is full-bodied and is suitable for both a raw consumption and for the preparation of first and main dishes. The size can be medium (7-7.5 cm with a weight of 120-130 g) to medium-large (8-8.5 cm with a weight of 130-160 g). The plant can reach 1 to 1.30 m in height and has green leaves with a flower stem that produces about 3-5 inflorescence
